Joe Michell Literacy Vision Statement
As an exemplary school, Joe Michell staff will foster a life long love of reading for enjoyment and for specific knowledge.
In our school teachers will work together to:
- Articulate the literacy program
- Bestow "Best Practices"
- Collaborate
- Develop and implement effective, ongoing assessment tools
Students will read:
- Every day
- For enjoyment and find value in reading
- Grade-level and above grade-level books
Parents will:
- Help at home and attend parent education classes at the school when offered
- Instill a love of reading with their children
- Join in a partnership with the school to promote literacy
